The UK government has responded to a list of recommendations made by the UK Environmental Audit Committee on ways to tackle the growing environmental footprint of the fashion industry, outlining the steps it is taking to deal with the issue which include launching a review of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to weigh up its effectiveness, and supporting the clothing industry via the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP) to improve transparency in supply chains.
